Decentralized prediction market framework Trueo has disclosed plans to transition its primary deployment from the Base Layer 2 network to the Ethereum mainnet, pointing to superior integration prospects, network effects, and a more natural alignment for a trustless and largely immutable application.
In a statement published on Monday, Trueo explained that Base functioned as an ideal testing ground for a novel concept during a period when gas costs on the Ethereum mainnet remained high. Trueo originally debuted on the Coinbase-backed Layer 2 network in March 2025.
“The ultimate evolution of Trueo is to function as a widely adopted, broadly integrated, fully trustless, mostly immutable, and highly credible ecosystem,” Trueo noted. “Ethereum represents the ideal match for this collection of characteristics.”
Following its transition to the mainnet, Trueo will concentrate primarily on generating liquidity across core market sectors and launching its next-generation oracle.
No ‘corposlop’
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed support for Trueo’s relocation via a message shared on X.
“It is encouraging to see that Ethereum L1 will gain a robust new prediction market participant focused on decentralization, ethical standards, avoiding corporate noise, and genuinely pursuing creative and meaningful applications for this type of economic primitive,” Buterin stated.
Meanwhile, Trueo reassured users that platform operations will experience no interruptions prior to or during the transition, and its overall development roadmap stays intact.
The project advised participants to refrain from initiating new Base markets expiring after January 31, 2027, and instead list longer-duration markets directly on Ethereum once that deployment goes live. Markets concluding prior to January remain unaffected, according to Trueo. Pre-existing Base markets settling post-migration will continue to be accessible via the official application.
The TRUE token will persist as the native asset of the protocol, and holders can bridge their assets to Ethereum alongside the application rollout, Trueo clarified. The token bridge window will remain open indefinitely.
A better oracle
Trueo emphasized that engineering a more impartial and trustworthy market settlement mechanism than those currently provided by existing platforms has consistently been its primary objective.
“Due process in dispute adjudication remains severely deficient despite the expansion of prediction markets over the last five years,” Trueo stated in its briefing. Although the protocol omitted specific references, two users filed a lawsuit against Polymarket back in July concerning the resolution of a market tied to whether Strategy would liquidate any of its bitcoin holdings by May 31. The plaintiffs held “Yes” positions.
Even though Strategy verified the sale of 32 BTC between May 26 and May 31, Polymarket settled the market as “No” because Strategy’s public filing was released on June 1, subsequent to the market expiration deadline. The litigants argued that Polymarket altered market parameters after settlement, breaching the platform’s core commitment to rules-based and objective outcomes.
In its recent migration announcement, Trueo mentioned that its oracle is engineered to evaluate evidence originating from “virtually any legitimate data provider” to deliver fair and precise results.
“Our goal is to construct prediction markets that individuals can depend upon, even when outcomes prove controversial and stakes run high,” Trueo remarked. “Achieving this requires immutable smart contracts, credible dispute resolution systems, and architecture capable of functioning with diminishing reliance on any single entity.”
To reach this “ultimate vision,” shifting operations to the Ethereum mainnet serves as the essential next phase, Trueo concluded.
