HIFI, an enterprise specializing in tokenized assets and stablecoin payment solutions, revealed that it has secured $37 million through a Series A funding round headed by Left Lane Capital.
The New York-based enterprise revealed the financing in a press release provided to The Block on Thursday. The organization stated that the capital will be directed toward expanding its tokenized capital-markets infrastructure alongside a broader offering of products.
HIFI offers API architecture that combines regulatory compliance, fund transfers, and clearing into a single integration spanning traditional banking networks and digital currencies. The business noted that it currently handles more than $7 billion in annualized transaction volume across 87 nations.
This Series A comes on the heels of the firm’s involvement in the DTCC’s July live trades utilizing DTC-tokenized securities in collaboration with BlackRock, Nasdaq, and Goldman Sachs, based on the announcement.
Furthermore, the business disclosed that it joined forces with Visa earlier this month to broaden its stablecoin settlement network to encompass card transactions and money wires. The collaboration will at first enable payouts backed by stablecoins to reach over 4 billion Visa cards globally.
Stablecoin surge
Stablecoins have grown into a massive sector of the digital asset economy, with the aggregate supply of tokens pegged to the U.S. dollar currently exceeding $295 billion, as shown by The Block’s metrics dashboard. Tether’s USDT accounts for roughly $183.4 billion of that amount, whereas Circle’s USDC maintains a circulating supply approaching $76 billion.
Visa reported earlier this month that its stablecoin settlement volume had crossed an annualized rate of $20 billion, representing a greater than 15-fold increase compared to the previous year.
A poll conducted by the company and published on Wednesday showed that 56% of American adults would embrace stablecoins provided they included hypothetical deposit insurance and fraud safeguards comparable to traditional banking. Absent those safeguards, that percentage falls to 36%.
