Ondo Finance (ONDO) rolled out three onchain portfolio instruments on Thursday, built upon model portfolio frameworks created by BlackRock.
Based on a briefing provided to The Block, these new offerings are named Ondo High Income Powered by BlackRock (BLKHIon), Ondo Diversified Growth Powered by BlackRock (BLKDIGon), and Ondo High Growth Powered by BlackRock (BLKGRWon). They remain accessible to qualified participants outside the United States within approved areas.
Participants can mint or burn a unified token rather than managing every asset within the pool individually. In a separate press release, Ondo noted that holdings, asset weightings, and all rebalancing actions are transparent onchain. These tokens feature peer-to-peer transferability across digital wallets, trading platforms, and DeFi protocols.
“Portfolios like these have never been available onchain. Now, they are made accessible onchain, transferable at any time, and usable across DeFi,” Ondo Finance Acting CEO and President Ian De Bode remarked. “By incorporating strategies drawn on BlackRock’s longstanding portfolio construction experience into tokenized investment structures, eligible investors in supported jurisdictions can obtain exposure to diversified portfolio allocations through a single token.”
BlackRock clarified that its involvement is strictly confined to supplying non-discretionary model portfolio strategies in accordance with guidelines provided by Ondo. The asset management firm does not oversee the onchain portfolios, nor does it handle the tokenization, issuance, distribution, custody, or day-to-day operation of the assets.
“Diversified portfolio strategies can be incorporated into tokenized investment products, enabling eligible investors to access diversified allocations through a single instrument,” BlackRock Global Head of Model Portfolio Solutions Lisa O’Connor stated. “It shows how established portfolio construction approaches can be delivered through new channels and technologies.”
Every portfolio token is generated by Ondo Global Markets and tokenized through Ondo Finance, with the firm expressing intentions to integrate further onchain portfolios moving forward.

Ondo expands tokenized markets offering
This rollout expands upon BlackRock’s broader entry into tokenization, following its initial launch of the BUIDL tokenized money market fund alongside Securitize back in March 2024. Ondo subsequently shifted $95 million worth of OUSG holdings over to BUIDL. BlackRock further extended its tokenization initiatives in August by introducing two tokenized money market options focused on stablecoin backing reserves.
Ondo had previously teased these intelligent portfolios during the prior month. John Hoffman, Ondo Finance’s managing director and head of product portfolios, informed The Block at that time that the tools would package tokenized equities into a single digital asset, noting that Ondo Stocks had already accumulated $1 billion in total value locked over an eight-month span.
This development arrives concurrently with a continuing leadership dispute regarding control of Ondo subsequent to founder Nathan Allman’s passing in May. His mother, Kathleen Allman, is actively pursuing corporate control along with De Bode’s dismissal from the chief executive post, claiming he took over the position without proper board authorization. De Bode has dismissed those claims as entirely groundless.
