Transaction volume handled through digital asset cards has scaled to an unprecedented $12.5 billion, marking a 140% increase since the beginning of the year, based on metrics from paymentscan.xyz, which was initially highlighted by The Kobeissi Letter.
This metric also stands 247% above the figures registered in October 2025.
The rapid expansion stems from the rising utility of stablecoins as a transactional network alongside a widespread demand for more economical and rapid international transfers, according to The Kobeissi Letter.

QR-code transactions represent another key growth sector: consumer interest in QR-driven purchases drove active cards on Jupiter Spend, a prominent on-chain card issuer, up by 55% over the quarter.
“Crypto cards are the next phase of crypto adoption,” noted The Kobeissi Letter.
These statistics emerge as prominent companies expand their presence in the crypto card sector. Fold Holdings (NASDAQ: FLD) revealed earlier this year that the rollout of its Fold Bitcoin Credit Card had begun for select users on the waiting list, with broader availability expanding progressively in the near future.
Operating on the Visa rails and supported by Stripe Issuing, the card functions across 175 million merchant locations. It delivers a baseline reward of 1.5% in bitcoin, which can elevate up to 4% through activity-based rewards and collaborator promotions. Users who settle their balances in bitcoin secure an additional 0.5% back.
Aven utilizes an alternative model. Its Aven Bitcoin Visa Card, introduced during the Bitcoin Conference 2026 in Las Vegas, permits users to secure loans up to $1 million backed by their bitcoin holdings without liquidating them, featuring interest rates beginning at 7.99% APR and repayment schedules extending to 10 years.
BitGo manages the underlying collateral, while Coastal Community Bank serves as the card issuer.
