While Bybit’s newly acquired VARA permit grants authorization for spot trading operations within Dubai, the digital asset platform must still fulfill additional regulatory obligations prior to rollout.

Digital asset platform Bybit has attained a comprehensive Dubai license dedicated to spot trading following its previous provisional validation.
On Thursday, Bybit stated that its regional branch, Bybit Fintech FZE, obtained a virtual asset service provider (VASP) authorization from the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) of Dubai to provide exchange offerings, which encompass spot trading.
A representative for Bybit informed Cointelegraph that the division’s prior provisional clearance was non-functional and did not allow the company to cater to clientele located in Dubai. The official public database maintained by VARA lists this fresh accreditation as operational, permitting services for retail, qualified, as well as institutional participants.
The representative mentioned that Bybit is still required to finalize VARA’s deployment procedures and satisfy operational criteria before initiating spot trading solutions. The enterprise refrained from disclosing a specific rollout schedule.
Previously, Bybit acquired a comprehensive Virtual Asset Platform Operator permit via the federal oversight body of the United Arab Emirates, the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), back in October 2025. Nonetheless, the trading platform’s operational limitations exclude Dubai from the territories covered by its SCA-authorized entity, Bybit Virtual Asset Platform Operator LLC.
The representative declined to comment regarding how the VARA authorization differs from the SCA validation or whether the prior clearance authorized services inside Dubai.
