Digital asset platform Crypto.com, alongside its derivatives collaborator OG.com, started rolling out cryptocurrency perpetual futures to qualified American traders on Tuesday.
These contracts provide up to 5x leverage and permit market participants to speculate on upward or downward price movements without any expiration date. The suite includes standard take-profit and stop-loss features alongside isolated margin capabilities. The announcement made on Tuesday did not outline the exact criteria for eligibility.
Crypto.com noted that it finalized its registration as an introducing broker with the National Futures Association to facilitate the deployment of these perpetuals. The instruments operate through OG.com’s CFTC-regulated exchange, clearinghouse, and futures commission merchant.
This rollout follows the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s decision in May to permit crypto perpetual contracts within the United States. The regulatory body greenlit Kalshi’s bitcoin perpetuals and provided no-action relief enabling Coinbase to roll out digital commodity derivatives. Afterward, Kraken introduced U.S. perpetual trading on Kraken Pro in June subsequent to purchasing Bitnomial.
Furthermore, Crypto.com aims to expand into equity derivatives. Nadex, the exchange functioning under OG.com, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission last month to handle security futures. During that period, Chief Executive Officer Kris Marszalek mentioned that the enterprise was collaborating with both the SEC and CFTC to introduce single-stock perpetual futures.
David Wells, CEO of Ondo Perps, stated to The Block in September that American perpetual products represent a massive prospect, although international platforms would require distinct clearing and settlement frameworks to comply with U.S. regulations.
