Based on documentation submitted to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the Zcash ETF managed by Grayscale (ZCSH) is preparing a 3-for-1 forward share split.
As outlined in the filing, participants registered as shareholders at the close of trading on September 28 will acquire two additional units for every single unit currently in their possession.
A press release issued by Grayscale explains that this forward split is anticipated to lower the fund’s individual share price while simultaneously raising the total quantity of outstanding shares by a matching ratio.
The announcement noted that theoretically, holding 10 shares priced at $300 apiece for a cumulative $3,000 before the adjustment translates to holding 30 shares priced at $100 apiece afterward, leaving the aggregate value unchanged at $3,000.
Implementing this split is expected to improve investor accessibility for the ETF, seeing as the underlying token experienced a valuation surge of roughly 2,800% throughout the preceding year, driving the unit price to elevated levels.

On Thursday, Cointelegraph reported that Zcash (ZEC)—a digital asset that allows participants to execute private transactions masking both recipient addresses and transferred amounts via zero-knowledge proofs—surged by approximately 20% across a 24-hour window following revelations from Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang that the venture firm acquired an undisclosed amount of ZEC.
Huang characterized Zcash as a privacy-focused counterpart to Bitcoin while also voicing support for its developer ecosystem, suggesting that maintaining long-term financial backing remains essential as quantum computing and AI-driven cyber threats continue progressing.
According to reports from The Block, the ZEC token reached as high as $1,521 during early Friday trading, marking what functions as a new effective all-time high prior to experiencing a slight retracement.
