American spot bitcoin Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds registered $528.4 million in collective net inflows on Wednesday, with products operated by BlackRock and Fidelity driving the vast majority of the volume, based on statistics gathered by The Block.
BlackRock’s IBIT paced the market with $235 million in net deposits, closely followed by Fidelity’s FBTC, which brought in $212.7 million. Vehicles managed by Grayscale and Bitwise secured a collective $51.2 million, whereas funds from VanEck, Morgan Stanley, Invesco, and WisdomTree recorded zero activity.
Ever since their launch in January 2024, these products have accumulated approximately $58 billion in total net inflows, boasting combined net assets of $109.3 billion, according to SoSoValue.
Significantly, spot bitcoin ETFs have pulled in over $1 billion across three trading days this week even though the cryptocurrency continues to experience an extended stretch of quiet price action. K33 noted on Tuesday that bitcoin’s 28-day realized volatility had declined to 1.2%, approaching its minimal level for the year, while market participants waited for the Federal Reserve interest rate announcement on October 28 and the United States midterm elections on November 3.
In a separate report, Glassnode mentioned that bitcoin’s slide to approximately $80,000 on October 15 stimulated purchasing activity close to the cost bases of spot ETF portfolios and corporate balance sheets. The analysis firm identified the upcoming major cluster of sell orders and potential liquidation thresholds sitting between $85,000 and $87,500.
Bitcoin changed hands above $81,900 during early Thursday trading, representing a 24-hour decrease of 1.5%, as reported by The Block’s BTC price tracking page.
Concurrently, Ethereum Ethereum (ETH) ETFs also shifted back to positive momentum, capturing $14.9 million in total net inflows after enduring five straight days of net withdrawals. Grayscale’s product frontran the group with $28.1 million, while Fidelity’s FETH added $13 million.
