U.S. inflation figures are scheduled for release at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists polled by Dow Jones forecasted that the consumer price index for September climbed 0.6% on a month-over-month basis and 3.6% compared to the previous year. Core CPI, which leaves out volatile energy and food expenses, was projected to advance 0.2% from August and 2.5% annually.
These figures receive close attention for hints regarding how the Federal Reserve might adjust interest rates. Regarding bitcoin, attention will center less on the headline figure itself and more on the way this report alters expectations surrounding Fed monetary policy.
Here is how analysts believe the report will affect bitcoin.
Ryan Lee, chief analyst, Bitget Research
“A hotter-than-expected inflation print could trigger another round of liquidations as Treasury yields and Fed expectations adjust.”
Lee pointed out that a recent market downturn has trimmed leverage in bitcoin, yet it may not have completely flushed out the ecosystem’s riskier wagers. Stated differently, speculators might still hold significant leveraged positions, leaving bitcoin susceptible to another wave of compulsory liquidations should yields climb and rate-reduction anticipations recede.
Utkarsh Ahuja, founder and managing partner, Moon Pursuit Capital
“Higher inflation can keep Treasury yields elevated, support the dollar and increase the cost of capital, all of which create challenges for crypto and growth-oriented investments.”
Ahuja advised investors to remain cautious about presuming that the Federal Reserve will ease monetary policy as rapidly as the markets desire. He plans to monitor the underlying inflation data alongside bond market reactions, noting that a milder print could aid the revival of risk appetite.
Bitunix analyst
“A moderate core inflation reading could ease rate expectations and improve risk appetite across crypto markets. However, a hotter-than-expected report could push the dollar and Treasury yields higher, placing renewed pressure on digital assets.”
Aside from the CPI, experts are tracking exchange-traded fund movements and crude oil fluctuations for further indicators concerning where risk sentiment, and bitcoin, might travel next. Stay alert!

Today’s signal

The chart illustrates daily price variations for WTI crude oil futures listed on the Nymex.
Crude oil has rebounded from the bullish trendline established by July lows, strengthening the broader upward trend.
On the upper boundary, the psychological threshold of $100 alongside the high of $106.75 on September 15 serve as critical levels to monitor. A surge toward these marks might compound inflation concerns, potentially weighing down risk-on assets.
