Binance is broadening its derivatives portfolio into foreign exchange by introducing 24/7 perpetual futures, beginning with a United States dollar to Brazilian real contract on Monday.
In contrast to standard foreign exchange markets that shut down over the weekend, Binance instruments will operate without interruption through a two-tier pricing framework. Throughout standard forex trading hours, values will follow a weighted index supplied by external data aggregators, whereas weekends and official holidays will implement an orderbook-driven pricing structure.
The USDBRLUSDT pair will become active on September 21, settle in USDT, and provide up to 100x leverage, based on a Friday announcement. Binance explained that the weekend framework relies on an exponentially weighted moving average of orderbook quotations instead of depending on outside price feeds.
Binance head of trading Shunyet Jan noted that the instruments aim to push price discovery past conventional forex trading schedules, simultaneously supplying participants with a platform to hedge or establish positions continuously.

Crypto exchanges expand into foreign exchange
This rollout arrives less than a fortnight after Bybit introduced 24/7 perpetuals following EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY, which also settle in USDT and deliver up to 100x leverage.
Additional digital asset platforms entered this sector previously. Kraken launched foreign exchange perpetual futures tracking the euro, British pound, Australian dollar, Japanese yen, and Swiss franc in April 2025, featuring up to 50x leverage. The platform had provided spot foreign exchange trading starting in 2020 and documented $5.7 billion in spot forex turnover during the initial portion of 2025.
These offerings grant digital asset traders exposure to currency fluctuations absent ownership of the underlying fiat currencies, engaging with an arena that records higher volume than any alternative financial sector. Worldwide over-the-counter forex turnover averaged $9.6 trillion daily in April 2025, as stated in a report from the Bank for International Settlements.
