Binance topped the list of platforms for 24-hour net inflows, turning around Monday’s massive outflows as user access to balances was restored following its $6.3 billion security breach.
Binance brought in $2.3 billion in net inflows over the trailing 24 hours while ramping up withdrawals in the wake of the $6.3 billion hack from the previous week.
The trading platform surpassed all other centralized exchanges tracked by DefiLlama regarding 24-hour net inflows. Over the same timeframe, Bitfinex pulled in roughly $280 million and Bitget gathered about $127 million.
Binance shared on X on Tuesday that hourly deposits were outpacing withdrawals by 03:00 UTC, demonstrating healthier user engagement and stabilizing movement.
These incoming funds represent a complete shift from Monday, when Binance saw net outflows exceeding $7 billion over a 24-hour window. During that period, OKX topped the sector with around $445 million in net inflows.
Binance had halted withdrawals on Friday following Thursday’s $6.3 billion exploit to investigate the intrusion and perform safety verifications. Withdrawals began reopening at 06:00 UTC on Sunday, and fiat withdrawal capabilities were made available again on Monday as outflows started slowing down.
Within a Sunday recovery statement, Binance announced it had successfully replenished roughly 95% of the impacted funds. The remaining 5% comprised less liquid digital assets that demanded extra time to secure via open-market and over-the-counter purchases.
The company has committed to absorbing the financial damage using internal reserves and dedicated safety funds instead of shifting any burden onto users.
The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation pointed the finger at North Korea for the breach on Saturday. North Korea refuted any involvement on Tuesday, with Kim Yo Jong, sister to supreme leader Kim Jong Un, labeling the accusation as ridiculous rhetoric.
