Dataline, a decentralized data network designed for AI agents, announced that it secured $10.6 million in seed capital and prepares to execute an initial coin offering.
Dispersion Capital, backed by Samsung, and Lattice jointly spearheaded the fundraising round. Additional participants included Symbolic Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Anagram, alongside Vlad Tenev, co-founder and CEO of Robinhood, as stated by Dataline co-founder Nuo Shi in an interview with The Block.
Additional anonymous participants featured a former chairman of the CFTC along with founders and partners hailing from Venmo, Anchorage Digital, NEA, General Catalyst, Jump Capital, and FalconX.
Finalized in April, the financing utilized a simple agreement for future equity, commonly known as a SAFE, bundled with a token warrant, according to Shi. She chose not to reveal the valuation.
Shi additionally noted that none of the investors secured a seat on the board of directors, an observer position, or an advisory title.
How Dataline works
Dataline supplies information that AI agents can consume and purchase as required. The platform encompasses both onchain and offchain information sources, Shi explained. Software engineers have the ability to link their artificial intelligence agents to these feeds through a single unified interface. Furthermore, Dataline applies AI algorithms to evaluate the data concerning its consistency, recency, and trustworthiness, assisting agents in determining whether the information is dependable before utilization.
“To give an illustration, a stablecoin valued at $0.97 could represent a bargain purchase or indicate the beginning of a depegging event, and a basic application programming interface or price feed cannot differentiate between them,” Shi remarked. “Dataline combines the pricing metrics with context regarding peg stability and discrepancies across venues, ensuring that automated bots, smart contracts, and human users understand precisely what they are observing.”
Shi mentioned alternative market participants like Chainlink, Pyth, The Graph, and Grass, while emphasizing that Dataline was engineered from the ground up specifically for artificial intelligence agents.
At present, Dataline is fully operational and incorporates approximately 50 data feeds, Shi noted. The inaugural group for Dataline’s “AI Data Launch” initiative features Hyperliquid, Polymarket, Kalshi, Base, Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, Sui, and TON. Creators constructing applications on Base and Robinhood Chain will obtain complimentary access to Dataline, the enterprise stated.
Token and public sale plans
Dataline intends to release its native asset before the conclusion of the current year, Shi stated, pointing out that the asset will facilitate transactions and network access. Participants will also possess the capability to lock tokens to secure continuous entry to information feeds rather than paying traditional recurring subscription fees.
Moreover, Dataline aims to conduct a public token offering on the Base network leveraging Uniswap’s Continuous Clearing Auction, or CCA, architecture. The startup collaborates closely with Uniswap and anticipates disclosing specifics in the upcoming week, according to Shi.
Dataline hopes the offering will stand as the largest Uniswap CCA hosted on Base, per Shi’s remarks. She declined to comment on targeted fundraising figures, total token volume for sale, or other structural parameters.
Following the token launch, information providers will be required to stake tokens when transmitting records, Shi explained. If a consumer accepts the transmitted records, the supplier receives compensation along with the return of their staked tokens. Providers supplying continuous information streams will maintain their tokens in a locked state to serve as a guarantee of high quality, Shi added.
Should a consumer reject the information, an artificial intelligence system will conduct an initial review, followed by a decentralized network ballot if necessary, Shi noted. Providers whose submissions fail this evaluation will forfeit their tokens, which will subsequently augment the incentives distributed to an alternative provider.
Dataline projects revenue generation through transaction fees levied on information payments, though fee collection has not commenced yet, Shi stated. Additionally, its foundational entity intends to generate income by supplying its proprietary information feeds.
Shi conveyed that Dataline will allocate the capital toward integrating supplementary data feeds, enhancing validation mechanisms, and branching into sectors including robotics and machine learning training datasets.
Established in 2025 subsequent to winning an artificial intelligence hackathon hosted by BNB Chain, Dataline operates primarily with personnel situated in North America and Europe. Shi elected not to disclose the organization’s employee count or future recruitment plans.
