Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp. is raising the annual dividend yield on its CHAD preferred stock from 13% to 14%, starting November 2.
This adjustment lifts yearly payouts to $1.40 per share from the previous $1.30, calculated against CHAD’s $10 stated value, with distributions occurring each business day upon formal declaration by the firm’s board.
DeFi Development (DFDV) stated that it intends to allocate capital raised from upcoming CHAD sales toward growing its Solana (SOL) treasury, which yields returns via staking and validator activities.
Chief Executive Officer Joseph Onorati noted that bumping the rate to 14% enhances that value proposition as they work to widen investor involvement and scale the CHAD offering.
The appeal of CHAD is powerful, offering double-digit daily dividend payouts via a Nasdaq-traded preferred equity from a business holding an active SOL treasury, Onorati explained in a statement. He added that they perceive a major chance to establish CHAD as a premier digital credit vehicle, increasing their ability to gather SOL and foster value-accretive expansion for common equity holders while upholding strict capital discipline.
DeFi Development Corp. acquired roughly 22,070 SOL and equivalent assets recently, pushing its aggregate reserves to approximately 2.59 million SOL.
The company also mentioned that CHAD hit historic trading peaks during that exact week. Furthermore, the organization lately approved an initiative to buy back the entirety of its outstanding CHAD shares.
