Prior to the midterm elections in November, the election and political prediction markets from Kalshi became available on the market data delivery network DoubleZero Edge, granting corporate entities broader access to growing prediction arenas.
On Wednesday, the DoubleZero Foundation announced the inclusion of Kalshi’s offerings, broadening its scope past sports event derivatives and cryptocurrency perpetual swaps.
“Election markets offer institutional players a live, tradable perspective on how sentiment evolves as political scenarios develop,” stated Kalshi head of institutional Andy Ross via an official release. “By streamlining the integration of Kalshi’s political market feed into corporate systems, DoubleZero Edge equips organizations with an effective instrument to evaluate risk, control exposure, and alter positioning as sentiment shifts.”
Prediction markets experienced massive growth throughout the 2024 election period, and subsequently, exchanges such as Kalshi and Polymarket have expanded rapidly, boasting valuations in the tens of billions of dollars. Capitol Hill lawmakers, federal agencies, and state regulators have likewise been debating appropriate oversight frameworks, particularly concerning sports wagering.
Domestic prediction market volume has already surpassed the 2024 electoral season figures, with specific congressional contests generating over $133 million in trading activity by the middle of August, as noted by Reuters.
“With the midterm elections scheduled for November 3rd, this rollout coincides with rising election-fueled trading volume and a growing institutional reliance on prediction platforms for live data concerning political and financial results,” DoubleZero explained.
