Minimum investments vary between roughly $80,300 and $364,800 across various offerings encompassing bitcoin, ether, solana, and XRP funds.
Grayscale has broadened in-kind subscriptions to encompass 10 digital asset investment funds, enabling qualified participants to trade tokens straight for shares rather than liquidating their assets for fiat currency first.
The eligible vehicles feature its Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF, Ethereum Staking Mini ETF, alongside exchange-traded funds and trusts linked to Avalanche, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Hyperliquid, Solana, Sui, XRP, and Zcash, with minimum entry requirements stretching from approximately $80,300 to $364,800.
The digital asset asset manager pointed out that this mechanism can alleviate self-custody challenges and potentially decrease transaction fees while granting participants entry into legacy brokerage and retirement portfolios, collateral capabilities, and additional portfolio management utilities.
“As digital currencies evolve, participants are looking for safer and more streamlined methods to handle their cryptocurrency positions,” stated Steve Vanourny, Head of Index at Grayscale, in a statement. “Given rising digital security risks, such as self-custody vulnerabilities and decentralized finance hacks, institutional-grade custody carries growing importance.”
In-kind investing connects direct crypto ownership with conventional wealth management, Vanourny explained, delivering access to expertly managed funds while helping to unlock secondary advantages.
Back in July 2025, the Securities and Exchange Commission greenlit in-kind creations and redemptions for spot crypto exchange-traded products. While the regulatory body sanctioned those activities for authorized participants, Grayscale is currently providing qualifying investors a method to supply tokens directly for shares, subject to specific fund guidelines and broker requirements.
“It is a fresh chapter at the SEC,” remarked Chairman Paul Atkins back then. “Market participants will gain advantages from these rulings, because they will render these funds more affordable and streamlined.”
