Based on blockchain analytics reviewed by The Block, upwards of $170 million worth of cryptocurrency seems to have shifted out of wallets associated with the Bitget exchange toward a brand-new, anonymous destination across roughly the preceding sixty minutes.
These transactions originated from multiple hot and cold storage wallets bearing the Bitget label, encompassing tokens such as ether, USDT, USDC, AVAX, and BNB. The destination wallet has already commenced exchanging these tokens directly on the blockchain.
Such movements have triggered rumors regarding a possible security compromise, although certainty is lacking as to whether the keys were unlawfully accessed or if Bitget itself executed the transactions internally.
Additionally, various community members have highlighted difficulties regarding withdrawal requests, based on statements circulating across social media and digital platforms.
By 5:30 p.m. ET, Bitget Chief Executive Officer Gracy Chen acknowledged the event via a statement published on X.
