Polygon Labs has broadened the cross-border transaction and stablecoin payment functions of its Open Money Stack by integrating support for the TRON network.
Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, explained to CoinDesk that the Open Money Stack focuses on enterprises desiring access to TRON’s digital-dollar infrastructure without needing to initially combine wallets, banking access, and alternative orchestration tools.
He noted that linking TRON directly into the Open Money Stack equips organizations with a method to deliver these services via a single unified integration.
This fresh service targets payment processors, fintech ventures, and remittance operations. Through it, a user can fund transactions using cash, debit cards, or bank transfers, acquire USDT inside a TRON wallet, and subsequently cash out into a traditional bank account.
Such development does not convert TRON into a banking institution, nor does it excuse payment providers from their respective licensing requirements. Instead, it offers a consolidated connection point for various transaction phases that previously demanded separate third-party vendors.
Polygon indicated that companies can also transfer USDT, the world’s leading stablecoin, between TRON and supported EVM chains without establishing individual connections to fiat-ramp services, bridging protocols, or wallet providers.
TRON serves as a primary network for moving USDT, holding upwards of $94 billion worth of Tether’s dollar-pegged asset circulating on its ledger. During the second quarter, roughly 93% of its $30 trillion in stablecoin transaction volume came from peer-to-peer transfers, representing the top share among all tracked networks according to CoinDesk.
Sun stated that clients expect their funds to arrive at desired destinations regardless of the underlying blockchain utilized for the transfer. He added that connecting TRON with Polygon’s framework assists enterprises in serving users across diverse payment ecosystems.
Polygon initially introduced the Open Money Stack back in January subsequent to its plans to acquire Sequence and Coinme. The organization pointed out that its fiat-ramp solution relies on compliance frameworks and money-transmitter licenses spanning 48 U.S. states.
