Stablecoin settlement organization dtcpay made public today the finalization of its $25 million Series A investment round, which includes a strategic contribution from Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Group.
The financing, initially kicked off earlier in the year under the leadership of Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, wrapped up with SBI joining via SBI Ventures Asset alongside the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. Prior backers Genedant Capital and Kwee Liong Tek also preserved their stakes.
Dtcpay delivers foundational cryptocurrency architecture. The platform manages token conversion and safekeeping, while also supplying a Visa-connected card allowing users to spend stablecoins just like traditional fiat currency. The enterprise holds a Major Payment Institution authorization issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, in addition to regulatory compliance across Europe, Hong Kong, Australia, and North America.
The participation of SBI in this funding round reflects a calculated effort to establish fully compliant pathways linking Japanese funds with commercial networks in Southeast Asia. Stablecoins present a high-speed alternative to sluggish conventional correspondent banking networks, provided that intermediary platforms satisfy strict regulatory mandates.
“We did not raise this round to sustain what we have built,” Alice Liu, founder and CEO of dtcpay, stated within the release. “We raised it to fundamentally change how money moves across borders.”
This deal highlights SBI’s broader corporate strategy. The firm has consistently allocated capital toward stablecoin banking and digital asset infrastructure, recently purchasing Singapore-based Coinhako, growing its multi-billion-dollar holding in Ripple to facilitate the distribution of the RLUSD stablecoin, and acting as a primary validator for Circle’s Arc network.
Dtcpay indicated that the infusion of $25 million will be directed toward building an enterprise portal, upgrading application capabilities, and growing its merchant network.
The official press release omitted details concerning the enterprise’s current valuation, financial revenue, or the precise allocation of the capital raised.
