Strategy is requesting that investors vote to authorize daily dividend distributions across the firm’s four preferred stocks listed in the United States, with the ballot set for October 28.
The leading corporate owner of bitcoin suggested that these payouts would accumulate every single calendar day, encompassing weekends and public holidays, and settle on the following business day.
This adjustment alters only the payment schedule while keeping overall dividend rates and standard regular payout sums untouched, and participants will cast their ballots on October 28, with STRC’s inaugural daily dividend slated for release on November 2 if cleared.
The shift toward daily payouts focuses primarily on STRC, which transitioned from monthly to bi-monthly schedules back in June.
Despite this, STRC has continued finding it difficult to reclaim its $100 nominal value since May, dropping down as low as $71 during the bitcoin market downturn in June, while its annual dividend yield sits at 12%.
Executing daily distributions could enhance STRC’s appeal to yield-seeking participants by minimizing the waiting period for collecting and compounding dividends, alongside stabilizing valuation fluctuations around distribution windows, as Strategy notes that maintaining a trading value near $100 remains the core objective of this modification.
Strategy has additionally allocated roughly $1 billion toward buying back preferred shares through its $2 billion initiative, which encompassed $174 million directed at STRC throughout the week concluding on September 20.
The primary factor behind STRC’s struggles stems from Strive’s perpetual preferred stock SATA, which distributes payouts every business day carrying a 13% annual yield and persistently maintains its position close to $100, meaning daily remittances could provide the necessary catalyst for STRC to bridge the remaining valuation gap currently sitting around $98.65.
As of Monday, Strategy maintains 846,000 BTC, purchased at a total cost of $63.80 billion representing an average price of $75,416 per token.
On Friday, bitcoin changed hands around $83,600, whereas MSTR experienced a 2.15% decline to hover near $158.
