Summary
- Canton Strategic Holdings (CNTN) intends to list its equities on TSV LLC, with transactions projected to launch as early as Nov. 2.
- The organization partnered with transfer agent Fairmint to digitize its stock, circumventing the issuer contest mechanism that impacts independent third-party tokenization.
- This debut could position TSV ahead of OKXICE, whose planned listings have faced resistance from 33 businesses.
An equity exchange operating on the Canton Network might beat the partnership between cryptocurrency platform OKX and NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to execute the inaugural trades under the Securities and Exchange Commission’s recent tokenization framework, kicking off with an entity that desires its shares on the blockchain.
Canton Strategic Holdings (CNTN) announced on Thursday that it entered into an agreement to list its common stock on TSV LLC, with market activity anticipated to launch as soon as Monday.
The Nasdaq-listed corporation has brought on SEC-registered digital transfer agent Fairmint to mint the tokenized shares and manage their official registry of ownership.
This setup follows a distinct path away from the third-party tokenization model that has triggered a surge of protests against the listings proposed by OKXICE. Canton Strategic Holdings is championing the tokenization internally, enabling TSV to bypass the 30-day issuer notification and objection protocol that is triggered when unrelated entities tokenize a firm’s equity.
Such an arrangement delivers an early evaluation of a different strategy for placing shares on-chain: securing direct corporate participation right from the start. Although it demands collaboration from the issuer and its transfer agent, it eliminates any ambiguity regarding whether the firm might halt the trading.

Starting with a willing issuer
TSV published its initial venue notice on Sept. 23, prior to the Oct. 4 notice filed by OKXICE. The statutory waiting period following TSV’s initial public disclosure has already expired.
“We were the first to formally notify the SEC of our intent to operate a tokenized securities venue, and we wanted our first listing to set the standard,” TSV CEO Ali Abrar stated in a release.
Both trading platforms plan to function underneath the SEC’s five-year “Innovation Exemption,” which permits eligible exchanges to trade tokenized American stocks via permissioned automated market maker liquidity pools. The issuer objection rule applies exclusively to third-party tokenization structures.
TSV intends to leverage the Tradecraft protocol built on Canton to deliver 24/7 trading access for verified institutional and retail traders. Transactions will settle atomically, meaning the transfer of equities and funds occurs simultaneously.
Fairmint will manage transfer regulatory compliance, and token holders will retain the identical rights and benefits as investors holding CNTN equity via Nasdaq, the enterprise reported.
“Tokenization creates more efficient access to equity markets for investors and greater transparency for issuers, and the SEC’s Innovation Exemption has set up the framework to bring tokenized U.S. equities onshore,” expressed Mark Wendland, Chairman and CEO of Canton Strategic Holdings.
