DriveWealth has teamed up with Ripple to embed its stablecoin settlement, cross-border payments, and digital asset custody capabilities into its brokerage architecture. Operations will kick off with settlement in Europe with subsequent expansion slated for the United States.
This implementation will leverage Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin operating on the XRP Ledger, enabling DriveWealth customers to fund and oversee collateral accounts utilizing stablecoins that swap into fiat currency almost instantaneously, alongside investigating potential equity financing avenues through Ripple Prime.
“We’ve already enabled 24/5 trading; now we need the funding to match, so clients can move with the markets instead of waiting for them,” stated DriveWealth CEO Naureen Hassan via a public statement. “Our partnership with Ripple empowers us to extend the same funding, and custody experience our clients already rely on to stablecoins and digital assets, so their capital keeps working around the clock instead of sitting idle overnight or over a weekend.”
DriveWealth gains the ability to promptly fund and administer user collateral portfolios via stablecoins that transition into cash nearly instantaneously. Additionally, the organization is migrating its treasury and custody systems over to Ripple’s network.
This collaboration deepens the embedding of RLUSD within traditional institutional financial systems. Just this week, Standard Chartered launched custody for RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. Earlier in the year, Ripple and LMAX Group struck a deal aimed at broadening institutional stablecoin adoption backed by $150 million in funding.
Furthermore, earlier this week, Ripple and Stripe-owned Privy partnered to introduce embedded wallets onto the XRP Ledger.
“DriveWealth came to Ripple with a specific challenge around cross-border settlement, but it quickly became clear there was an opportunity to do much more together,” noted Jack McDonald, Ripple’s SVP of stablecoins. “By integrating Ripple’s full product suite into DriveWealth, we’re modernizing how money moves and is supported across trading, custody and settlement.”
Both entities plan to elaborate on the alliance at the Ripple Swell event on October 28.
