In the coming months, Robinhood will introduce perpetual futures trading directly within its application, expanding its service lineup for customers in the United States.
Through a statement issued on Tuesday, Robinhood revealed plans to grant eligible U.S. clients access to perps trading so they can establish long or short positions on assets such as bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, ADA, LINK, and HYPE.
Additionally, the company plans to provide up to 10x leverage for bitcoin and ether perpetuals alongside 3x leverage for other perpetual futures contracts. Bitstamp will power this new perps service, which will feature a promotional fee of 0.01% per trade running through the conclusion of the year.
“You can set stop-loss and take-profit orders, track your liquidation price in real time, and get alerts if a position is at risk,” the team noted.
“Robinhood is bringing America its first true perps. No expiry, with P&L settled every 15 minutes,” remarked Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev via X, describing the fresh offering as a “new chapter for U.S. derivatives.”
This upcoming launch from Robinhood coincides with broader digital asset industry investigations into how perpetual futures might successfully deploy across American markets. During a Tuesday interview with The Block, Ondo Perps CEO David Wells stated that he identifies a “huge opportunity” within the domestic perps landscape.
“Everybody’s looking at the U.S. because there are more opportunities now that are opening up that were just never possible,” Wells mentioned.
24/7 trading
On Tuesday, Robinhood additionally announced its intention to roll out 24/7 trading for selected U.S. equities, pending regulatory approval.
Such a development would expand the platform’s current “24 Hour Market,” which currently permits clients to exchange hundreds of equities and exchange-traded funds starting Sunday at 8 pm ET through Friday at 8 pm ET.
According to Robinhood, weekend trading around the clock will initially feature a carefully selected assortment of stocks and ETFs, backed by Bruce ATS, an alternative trading system built for institutional use.
AI agents
Furthermore, on Tuesday, the firm revealed Robinhood Agents, enabling users to create personal artificial intelligence agents inside the app to “help them develop powerful strategies, run detailed research, or trade automatically.”
This new capability expands upon the agentic trading toolset that Robinhood debuted last May, which lets customers link third-party AI agents directly to the platform. Robinhood reported that over 150,000 accounts for agentic trading have been opened since that initial rollout, with these AI agents currently interacting with its tools nearly 30 million times daily.
“With safety and security at its core, we’re setting the standard for what agentic finance can be,” stated Abhishek Fatehpuria, vice president of product management at Robinhood, in the announcement.
