Tokenized cash fund provider Spiko revealed on Tuesday the completion of a $90 million Series B funding round spearheaded by New Enterprise Associates.
Participation also came from Index Ventures, Bpifrance, Speedinvest, and Wintermute Ventures, as well as angel investors such as Axel Weber, the former president of the Bundesbank, according to an announcement by the London and Paris-based organization. This latest injection elevates Spiko’s cumulative funding to $120 million.
The announcement noted that the enterprise intends to deploy the fresh capital to introduce new funds, penetrate new geographic regions, and grow its workforce, which involves establishing local operations in Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and the Nordic countries.
Spiko creates and offers its own compliant cash funds, which users can utilize via its mobile and web platforms. Additionally, financial institutions can integrate these funds directly into their own offerings utilizing Spiko’s API.
As outlined in the statement, these funds are tokenized and deployed across several public blockchains, enabling them to function on the exact same architecture utilized by stablecoins and smart contracts. Spiko explained that this renders the cash programmable, empowering businesses to configure automated rules for transferring surplus operational capital into funds while maintaining liquidity for payroll and alternative disbursements.
The organization stated that it currently manages $2.7 billion in assets spanning funds denominated in euros, US dollars, British pounds, and Swiss francs. Over 10,000 corporate and retail users spread across more than 25 territories currently leverage its funds, the firm added.
Drawing on figures from RWA.xyz, Spiko reported that its suite of tokenized cash funds currently exceeds those managed by BlackRock and Franklin Templeton. This comparison specifically highlights the company’s standing specifically among tokenized cash fund creators, rather than the total assets under management held by those traditional asset managers.
