Singapore-rooted stablecoin settlement enterprise Dtcpay has successfully wrapped up a $25 million Series A funding drive backed by Japanese giant SBI Group.
During Friday announcements, SBI Holdings stated that its capital deployment went through SBI Ventures Asset along with the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund, which are both Singapore-stationed investment pools directed by the conglomerate. Neither SBI nor dtcpay revealed the exact financial value of SBI’s stake or the startup’s overall valuation.
Dtcpay noted that this infusion finalized its $25 million Series A, which kicked off via a $10 million initial segment headed by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India back in April. Genedant Capital alongside prior backer Kwee Liong Tek also joined the financing round. Previously, Dtcpay secured $16.5 million in pre-Series A capital during June 2023.
The enterprise supplies the technical framework enabling commercial entities and regular users to receive, hold, and execute transactions utilizing both stablecoins and traditional fiat monies. Their offerings feature a live stablecoin-to-fiat exchange mechanism, point-of-sale payment devices for merchants, and a Visa card enabling buyers to utilize accepted stablecoins across the standard card infrastructure.
The business possesses a Major Payment Institution authorization issued by the Monetary Authority of Singapore alongside an Electronic Money Institution authorization within Luxembourg.
Dtcpay communicated that the fresh capital will bolster the growth of its vendor ecosystem and offerings, featuring an upgraded commercial dashboard and fresh user functionalities. Concurrently, SBI mentioned the financial injection will aid its initiatives targeted at building a digital asset pipeline linking Japan with Southeast Asia.
