Strategy (MSTR) resumed its bitcoin acquisitions for the first time since the closing weeks of June, picking up 4,603 coins across the previous week at a total expenditure of $369.7 million, equating to an average cost of $80,318 per coin.
As outlined in a Monday morning press release, this latest purchase was financed through the issuance and sale of $602.8 million in common shares. The rest of the capital raised was allocated toward repurchasing $151.8 million of the firm’s STRC preferred shares and bolstering Strategy’s liquid reserves.
Spearheaded by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, the enterprise currently possesses a cumulative total of 845,050 bitcoin acquired for $63.73 billion, reflecting a mean purchase price of $75,412 per coin.
MSTR shares climbed 1.65% in pre-market activity alongside bitcoin changing hands around $78,400, marking a slight increase compared to late Friday levels.
