During Monday morning trading hours in Asia, Bitcoin changed hands slightly above $79,300, marking a decline of under 1% across a 24-hour window and a roughly 2% weekly gain, based on metrics from CoinDesk.
Zcash emerged as the top performer, reaching nearly $1,183 with an increase of more than 3% for the day and 45% over the week, having surpassed $1,000 on Friday for the initial time since 2016. Monero declined by nearly 3% yet maintained a 4% weekly increase. Remaining assets showed minimal movement. BNB decreased by 2%, dogecoin and solana each fell about 1%, while ether, XRP, tron, and hyperliquid all remained within 1% of neutral. Looking at the seven-day timeframe, the market generally showed positive momentum, with BNB advancing nearly 9%, dogecoin jumping over 8%, and hyperliquid rising 7%.
August employment figures came in at 162,000 compared to projections of around 56,000, which raised the probability of a rate increase at the September 15-16 Federal Reserve meeting to approximately 58% from under 50%. The two-year U.S. Treasury yield touched a 52-week peak close to 4.4%.
Investment vehicles are successfully absorbing the pressure. United States spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds brought in roughly $770 million through the initial four trading days of September. Observers should monitor whether this trend persists during a week where interest rate adjustments are now considered the primary expectation rather than an unexpected event.
