Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) stated on Monday that it grew its Ethereum treasury to 5,956,378 ETH following a purchase of 27,180 ETH over the previous week.
Valued at $2,513 per token, these reserves amounted to roughly $15 billion as of September 13. The firm noted in a statement that it currently commands 4.9% of Ethereum’s total 122 million supply.
As of September 7, Bitmine reported that 5,067,309 ETH were staked, which accounts for approximately 85% of its total portfolio and translates to $12.7 billion based on the company’s valued price. Furthermore, the organization mentioned that its staking activities yielded a 7-day annualized return of 2.62%, estimating yearly staking revenue at $334 million.
Aside from ether, Bitmine disclosed ownership of 212 bitcoin (BTC), a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, a $98 million investment in Eightco Holdings, alongside $549 million in cash and liquid securities. Altogether, its cash, cryptocurrencies, marketable assets, and other holdings reached $15.8 billion.
Tom DeMark, head of DeMark Analytics and a financial markets consultant for Bitmine, mentioned he anticipates a significant upward shift for ether in the upcoming weeks. He referenced August’s price action, during which ETH consolidated sideways without dropping downward, explaining that the conclusion of a 12-day indicator suggested a resumption of the previous trend.
“We believe this further supports the continuation of the prior uptrend. We expect late August’s sharp one-day rally was a likely preview of the pending advance,” DeMark remarked in the press release.
Chairman Tom Lee pointed out that the ETH/BTC valuation ratio climbed to its highest point since January 30, characterizing it as the start of a fresh upward cycle. He also highlighted that ETH outperformed the S&P 500 index by 5,866 basis points throughout the third quarter leading up to the previous Friday.
Based on metrics from The Block’s ETH price tracker, Ethereum exchanged hands above $2,500 on Monday, marking a 24-hour gain of 1.4% and maintaining a market valuation of $306.3 billion.
