Florida Athletics has revealed a multi-year collaboration with Ripple that will introduce XRP branding starting with the 2026 football season. The XRP emblem will be showcased prominently on the turf at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, as well as throughout the digital platforms and event displays of Florida Athletics.
In addition to visual branding, Ripple will back financial and technology literacy programs for Florida student-athletes and the wider campus community, addressing both conventional finance and digital assets. Financial details of the agreement were left unshared.
Scott Stricklin, the University of Florida’s Athletics Director, stated that the alliance mirrors the institution’s tradition of adopting forward-thinking ideas and seeks to present XRP to one of the most dedicated and sizable audiences in collegiate athletics.
“Florida has a long history of embracing innovation and technology to enhance the experience of our fans and advance our programs,” Stricklin said in a statement. “Ripple has established itself as an innovative leader in financial technology, and we’re excited to welcome XRP to Gator Nation.”
XRP (XRP) serves as the native digital asset of the XRP Ledger. Established in 2012, Ripple delivers blockchain-powered financial solutions, encompassing payments, custody, prime brokerage, and treasury operations, with XRP and its RLUSD stablecoin supporting its services.
Earlier this summer, Ripple took on the role of sports sponsor for the Kansas Jayhawks, with an XRP patch set to feature on team uniforms, marking the inaugural appearance of a cryptocurrency on the jerseys of a prominent collegiate athletic program. Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, is an alumnus of Kansas.
The Florida athletic department participates in the Southeastern Conference and maintains 21 squads alongside over 500 student-athletes, based on the press release. The university has secured 49 national titles spanning 16 sports.
Most significantly, its football squad captured national titles in 1996, 2006, and 2008 and consistently ranks as a highly watched program across the SEC and NCAA.
