Ripple has joined forces with Privy, the wallet infrastructure company owned by Stripe, to introduce XRP Ledger (XRPL) compatibility into Privy’s software development kit.
Through this collaboration, creators can incorporate XRPL wallets directly into their applications without having to construct the underlying wallet architecture from scratch. Teams will be capable of establishing and overseeing wallets, authorizing transactions, and facilitating compatibility for XRP, the RLUSD stablecoin created by Ripple, alongside other tokens launched on the blockchain.
“Stablecoins are changing how money moves, and XRPL has been building for payments from the start. We’re excited to make Privy wallets available to developers building on XRPL, from global payments to agentic commerce, and whatever comes next,” stated Henri Stern, the chief executive officer and co-founder of Privy as well as the head of crypto and stablecoins at Stripe.
Privy supplies in-app embedded wallets that function natively within software applications, removing the necessity for users to link an external cryptographic wallet. This capability assists financial technology and payments enterprises in delivering stablecoin functionalities without forcing consumers to handle individual private keys.
Privy clarified that participants retain the option to export seed phrases and private keys if they wish to transition their wallets to a different provider.
Stripe purchased Privy during the previous year, though the venture continues functioning independently. This alliance introduces XRPL capabilities to Privy’s suite of wallet utilities as Stripe grows its digital asset and stablecoin operations.
XRPL wallets for AI agents and x402 payments
Privy will additionally enable programmers to deploy XRPL-based wallets that can be controlled directly by software systems. Artificial intelligence agents may leverage these wallets to store balances and execute financial transfers.
Both entities mentioned that these wallets will additionally accommodate x402 payments, enabling automated programs and AI systems to purchase internet services.
“Privy brings proven wallet infrastructure that makes it easier for fintechs and developers to bring XRPL into real products, from payments and stablecoin experiences to emerging forms of agentic commerce,” remarked Markus Infanger, who serves as the senior vice president of RippleX at Ripple.
Privy noted its intention to scale the integration progressively by incorporating gas sponsorship and policy controls, which empower builders to define transaction rules and pay for network gas charges on behalf of consumers.
