Bitcoin treasury firm, Strive’s perpetual high-yielding preferred stock, SATA, is nearing a $1 billion market capitalization.
Strive bought another 1,375 BTC last week for $109 million, which averages out to $79,281 per bitcoin, raising its cumulative reserves to 24,531 BTC, valued at roughly $1.96 billion.
Chief Executive Officer Matt Cole noted that SATA made up 70% of the funds Strive gathered during the prior week, while the remaining 30% derived from common stock issuances. SATA provides daily payouts yielding an annualized 13% and maintains a trading value close to its $100 face value, enabling Strive to secure further funding through at-the-market share programs. ASST shares have more than doubled across the previous month and gained 56% since the start of the year, though they still sit roughly 90% below their all-time peak attained about a year ago.
ASST has lately beaten out Strategy, which continues to show a 12% decline for the year. Strategy bought back an additional $176 million of STRC last week—its 12% yielding preferred stock—while also lifting its approved STRC buyback cap from $1 billion to $2 billion.
Strategy kept its cryptocurrency reserves unchanged at 845,050 BTC. It paid for the STRC buybacks using existing cash reserves instead of putting out new common stock, which brought its US dollar reserves down to $1.438 billion.
