American spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds experienced approximately $120 million in withdrawals on Wednesday, marking two days in a row of negative performance based on figures from SoSoValue. The ARKB fund managed by Ark and 21Shares drove $78 million of this total, alongside Grayscale’s GBTC losing $27 million and BlackRock’s IBIT dropping $20 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT stood alone as the sole fund to attract capital, bringing in roughly $4 million, while the remaining eight registered zero movement.
Conversely, the remainder of the digital asset market moved in a positive direction. Ether investment products gathered nearly $35 million following a $24 million deficit on Tuesday, whereas XRP vehicles secured $12 million and solana funds brought in $12 million. Meanwhile, Hyperliquid-linked instruments gave up $5 million.
Almost every single bitcoin fund exchanged hands at a discount relative to the net asset value of their underlying coins, with the sole exceptions being Grayscale’s mini trust and Invesco’s BTCO, indicating that shares traded below the actual value of the bitcoin they represent.
Total net inflows into bitcoin ETFs since their inception currently rest at $55.45 billion.
The ARKB fund has experienced a sharp reversal, shifting from a $138 million influx on September 3 to a $78 million withdrawal just six days afterward. Observers should monitor whether this specific product displays a third directional shift within the week, particularly because a single trading desk has predominantly dictated the aggregate daily volume for the entire sector.
