Based on a Monday 8-K filing submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission, bitcoin treasury entity Strategy (MSTR) bought back 1.42 million STRC preferred shares valued at approximately $139.3 million over the period from September 8 to September 13.
The corporation stated that these buybacks were financed through its USD cash reserves. As of September 14, the balances recorded for its USD reserve and USD cash stood at $5.1 billion and $1.3 billion, respectively.
Strategy neither purchased nor disposed of any bitcoin over the past week, maintaining its total accumulation unchanged at 845,050 BTC (valued at $65.7 billion) for the second consecutive week.

New Strategy
Michael Saylor, co-founder and Executive Chairman of Strategy (Michael Saylor), has abstained from publishing his customary Strategy bitcoin tracker chart updates during recent weeks. Historically, Saylor’s routine Sunday publications served to signal upcoming acquisition announcements in advance, but these have become less frequent as the company’s operational approach shifted and its bitcoin reserves remained consistent recently.
Pursuant to the updated Digital Credit Capital Framework, Strategy limited the use of its USD reserve strictly to preferred stock dividends and interest obligations, while approving a $1 billion repurchase initiative for its digital credit securities, focusing initially on STRC. That authorization was subsequently expanded to $2 billion during the preceding week.
The firm additionally greenlit a $1 billion common stock repurchase plan and later broadened its BTC Monetization Program to permit up to $5 billion in bitcoin liquidations to support its reserve, dividend disbursements, interest obligations, and securities buybacks within the framework.
According to figures from Bitcoin Treasuries, 197 publicly traded corporations have integrated some variation of a bitcoin acquisition model. Twenty One (backed by Tether), Metaplanet, MARA, and the Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company (supported by Adam Back and Cantor Fitzgerald) comprise the remainder of the top 5, holding 43,514 BTC, 43,000 BTC, 35,577 BTC, and 30,021 BTC respectively.
Equities associated with this group have experienced steep declines from their 2025 highs, driven by significant contractions in their market-cap-to-net-asset-value multiples. For instance, MSTR remains lower by roughly 71%, maintaining an enterprise mNAV of 1.1 according to corporate reports.
Common shares of Strategy declined by 4.7% over the past week, concluding Friday’s session at $130.97. Concurrently, Bitcoin experienced a 3.9% decrease across the identical timeframe.
